It's Summer.....and our plans!

Hello all! It's Summer! Woo hoo! Today was my last day of teaching til August! We are getting ready to move full steam ahead with schooling Mr. E as of tomorrow (Thursday) morning! This summer we are going to be using a great language arts program called Learning Language ARts Through Literature (Blue Book) to work on reading, phonics, etc. We are doing LA inthe AM and then in the afternoon we are doing a nine week unit study from Konos called Africa: The Land of Stewardship.
Tomorrow will be as follows:
Get up as we wish/get dressed/devotions for Mom/breakfast
LA: Read our reader, make puppets to retell the story
Work on forming our small letters s, c and f.

Math: Continue working through Math U See Primer
Read aloud: from Konos

Lunch: sarnies, chips (or crisps!) and fruit

After lunch we'll have quiet reading time with books from our library that relate to our topic of study this week:
Egypt and snakes

Konos:
1. Geography: We'll talk about what Africa is/where it is at and look at various types of maps and what info they tell us. Hang our map of Africa/talk about the names of some African countries and talk about people we know from Africa-Haroun's Dad.
2. Vocabulary: we'll touch on some important words from this weeks readings and topics.
3. Vocabualry: We'll define the word steward by the dictionary and the Bible and talk about how to look up a word in the dictionary.
4. Bible: Readings in Genesis and Luke relating to stewards.
I'm looking really forward to a great first day of "school"!

Can you believe it?

It's been almost three months from the time I last posted! Wonder if I've got any readers left? The last few months have been busy getting used to being back in the US. It's funny, but NI seems to have a hold on me. It seems that I spend most of my dreams there! Thanks to the Skype phone I get to talk to friends there now and then. I could totally see living there. I'd just worry about being so far away from my Mom and DAd who are great support and help!
The big news is that we have a new house! We'll get the keys on the 14th-God is so good! It has a great backyard which is fab as Mr. E loved having one in Greenisland! There are lots of kiddos as well!
I'll try to write soon!
xoxo,
