Welcome to Eire Classical School!

Hey, it's me, and I'm still alive! It has been a very full, busy and fun summner. It's good to be back blogging, and yes we still miss NI every single day!
As the summer continued it started to become a reality that schooling choices would be an issue. What do you do with a five year old child who is both gifted and has learning issues? I looked at the public school in our neighbourhood (it's a great school by the way!) and decided that it just was not a good fit. Moved on to looking at other schools and finally decided on PJXXIII. Enjolled DS there, and thought "ahhhhhhhh", one less thing to think about. Summer continued and DS's meltdowns and other issues continued. The more that I thought about it, the more that I realized that traditional school was not goign to be an option for us. All along, in the back of my brain, I was thinking about homeschooling. Thinking. Praying for a way or an answer. My friend Bev (hi Bev!) found me a wonderful HSing Mama who lives all of 3 minutes from my house. The past two weeks I've been stuck between HS and PJ. Both are wonderful options. I think HSing is best for Mr. E and it is what I've always wanted to do. Still, I am morning the loss of traditional K and all the cool s tuff that comes with it. I hope he doesn't grow up and hate me because he didn't "go" to school this year. I hope I'm doing the right thing. Oh, and in answer to the social issue, we'll be with plenty of kids this year between, Upward Soccer, Awana, Sunday School, field trips, karate and violin. Thanks for listening to this mama's heart!
